What are the kidneys?
The kidneys are two of the fist-sized organs located on the two sides of your back, over the waist, which are protected from the ribs.
What is the function of the kidneys?
- Kidneys are considered to be the chemists of the organism.
- They balance the water content of the body as well as the chemicals.
- Remove the waste products from the blood.
- They produce various hormones and chemicals that help in the production of red blood cells.
- They help the body use Vitamin D, which keeps bones strong and healthy.
- They keep blood pressure under control.
How does the release system work?
The separation system consists of 2 kidneys, 2 urinary bladders, bladder, 2 sphincter muscles, urethra (urinary canal).
- Kidneys - remove the waste products from the blood;
- Urinary channels - make waste products in the form of urine from the kidneys to the bladder;
- Urethra - ejects the urine from the body.
What is a kidney stone?
Kidney stones are a solid crystal mass. The stones vary in size. They can be as small as sand or large as a ball for table tennis. They can appear anywhere in the excretory system.
What factors contribute to the formation of kidney stones?
- Periodic Urinary Tract Infections.
- Too little fluid intake.
- Urinary tract blockage.
- Consumption of too much calcium, red meat or Vitamin C.
- Consumption of certain medicines.
- Metabolism disorders.
- Gout or chronic inflammation of the intestine.
What Are The Symptoms Of Kidney Stones?
- Acute pain in the lower back.
- Pain may be accompanied by nausea or vomiting. If there is urinary tract infection, the symptoms may include fever, sweating, and painful urination.
- There may be blood in the urine.
- Grief for frequent urination, unpleasant urine smell.
- Some people have no symptoms, but they directly pass grit-sized stones through their urine.
Who is affected by kidney stones?
Kidney stones are more common in males than in females (3: 1) between 20 and 40 years of age. Stones appear in the summer because of dehydration.
How to prevent the reappearance of kidney stones?
- Drink lots of water every hour of the day, at least 3 liters a day.
- Avoid high doses of Vitamin C.
- Consume vegetables (radishes and cucumbers), fruits (watermelon) and cereals regularly.
